Maybe Labels Aren't So Bad Afterall...
[by Egon on Wednesday, March 31, 2004]
The Red Chord have officially been signed to Metal Blade/Black Market Activities.  The band plans on recording their next CD by the end of the year.  For the next 5 weeks the band will be on tour in some shitty states like Virginia and New Mexico, then will return for the New England Hardcore/Metal Fest on April 30th.
Like Drinking Carbonated Douche......
[by Arrowhead on Wednesday, March 31, 2004]
While you're waiting around for them to legalize gay marriage,  feel free to lisp along to the new Godsmack release that hit stores earlier this month.  Yes,  they managed to wring another whole album out of those same tired chords.  No word yet on how many times frontman Sully Erna manages to say "yeah" or "go away" on this one,  but we'll be sure to keep you posted as more info comes in.
Never Believe What You Read On The Internet......
[by Arrowhead on Saturday, March 27, 2004]
Despite posts to the contrary here and almost every other news outlet on the web,  copies of the Metalfest DVD went on sale at Newbury Comics with it's original artwork and both Converege tracks intact.  While I have no clue how,  why,  or for how long,  grab a copy while it's still available if you want those tracks.
Why Labels Suck...
[by Egon on Thursday, March 25, 2004]

Bad News:
For everyone anticipating the release of the New England Hardcore & Metal Fest 2003 DVD, you will have to wait another month or so.  Due to licensing issues surrounding Converge and their label, the performance of "Concubine" and "Fault and the Fracture" has to be removed.

Good News:
Since the DVD was originally scheduled for release on Tuesday, 3/23/04 and problems arose at the last minute, a few copies have popped up in stores and can be purchased complete with the Converge performance and original artwork.  So I will be hunting down all copies and selling them on EBAY for a vast profit.

Cheech's Pimp Hand......
[by Arrowhead on Wednesday, March 24, 2004]

Another Reason Why Headbanger's Ball is Cooler than TRL......

Sick as Sin Metalfarce......
[by Arrowhead on Wednesday, March 24, 2004]

As you may have heard,  the Sick as Sin Metalfest in Lowell was shutdown early by the clubowners on Sunday.  Sin Promotions has released a statement on the matter as follows:

"First of all I do apologize for the mess, although it was certainly uncontrollable by my part. Most of it I can't go into detail on until I finish talking to my lawyer, as there WILL be reprecussions for what the owner did Sunday night. Any bands who feel they were shafted in this experience please contact me, as anyone who would like to join the suit will split any damages paid between themselves. I don't want a single cent from it, I just want justice for bad business practices and ruining something that so many people put so much work & heart into. Here are some points I would however like to make known now:

1.) I most certainly did NOT shut down the show, and I did pay the owner for the clubs the week before. I want it to be clear that the owner shut down the show and did not even give me the chance to discuss it with him. No contractual obligations were broken on my part, only the owner's part. I have many witnesses that can attest to this, as well as a copy of a cashed check from the club for the room.

2.) Everyone hold onto your SICK AS SIN ticket. BBTS & Dying Fetus were both nice enough to come back and we are working on a make-up show where all SICK AS SIN attendess can get in for free.

Stay tuned for more news as I can release it.
~Megan"

"I'm Rick James, BITCH!", .......
[by Arrowhead on Monday, March 15, 2004]
In a shameless self promotion in the name of brutality,  Boston based grindcore outfit Pillory (featuring Ex Virulence members Chris Danecek and Darren Cesca currently in Goratory,  and guitarists Dan Sanchez and Marcos Solorzano - two guys who both happened to bang you mother) have taken on Pete Putrid a.k.a. ArrowHead a.k.a. Rick James,  BITCH! as vocalist.  A demo track can be checked out at www.pillorygrind.com ,  with a full length tenatively slated for spring.
When Stupid Dogs do Good Things......
[by Arrowhead on Monday, March 15, 2004]
Hey,  it's only been like a month or two,  but I just figured out my password.  I can actually post stuff again.  Be on the lookout for some news,  reviews,  and maybe some nude pictures of our official masscore babe,  the Chooch himself.
On Broken Knees...
[by Egon on Wednesday, March 10, 2004]

On Broken Wings' vocalist Jonathan Blake recently tore some cartilidge in his knee due to a 'dance off with a Chuck Norris look-a-like during Remembering Never set'.  They will not be finishing the last 2 weeks of the tour, but will be playing both the MA dates including the Sick as Sin Fest.

Finishing Your Blue Skies...
[by Egon on Monday, March 8, 2004]

Diecast has finished up recording their new CD "Tearing Down Your Blue Skies," and are planning a release this summer through Now or Never/Century Media.  This disc marks the vocal debut of Paul Stoddard (formerly of Breedinground) with Diecast.  Expect heavy touring after the release of the CD.
